About the Teenage Volunteer Program
Martin Memorial Health Systems’ teenage volunteer program is designed to give students the opportunity to volunteer in a hospital environment. In order to assure that Martin Memorial maintains its high quality of service to the community, our teenage volunteers are selected on a competitive basis.
We do not accept volunteers who are required to volunteer as a condition of a court-ordered sentence.
Participation Requirements
To participate in the teenage volunteer program, students must have:
- Age of 15 to 18
- Minimum grade level of 9th grade
- 3.0 cumulative grade point average (as verified by a guidance counselor) on a standard diploma course of study
- Reliable transportation
- Teacher recommendation
- Parental consent
- Interview with the Teenage Volunteer Coordinator
- TB screening test
- Ability to perform a minimum of four volunteer service hours per week
