We also offer dental, vision, life and disability insurance, can help you plan for your family's college and retirement savings, and much more.
Insurance
- Medical Insurance
Martin Memorial offers medical and hospitalization coverage to employees and their eligible dependents on the 91st day after hire. The Martin Benefit Plan (MBP) is a self-insured plan with in- and out-of-network options offering provider choice. Employees contribute toward the cost of coverage, but Martin Memorial assumes the majority of premiums.
- Medical and Dependent Care Spending Accounts
Employees can designate a portion of pre-tax income into a special savings account to be used for reimbursement of medical or dependent care expenses that are not covered by another insurance program.
- Dental Insurance
Martin Memorial offers preventive, basic and major dental coverage for you and your eligible dependents. Employees can choose from two levels of coverage depending on their needs.
- Vision Insurance
Martin Memorial offers a vision plan that covers routine eye care, including eye exams and eyeglasses (lenses and frame) or contacts. The plan also provides discounts for certain services, such as Lasik.
- Life Insurance
Basic Group Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance is provided to full-time employees at no cost. Coverage level is equivalent to your base annual salary. Additional life insurance coverage is also available for purchase at group rates for you, your spouse and dependents.
- Long-Term Disability Insurance
Group Long Term Disability Insurance provides partial income protection in the event of a qualified disability in which the employee is unable to continue working. This insurance is provided at no cost to full-time employees after three years continuous full-time employment. During your first three years at Martin Memorial, you may choose to purchase the same coverage at low group rates. If you choose this additional coverage, your plan will automatically covert after three years of employment to the Group Long Term Disability Insurance plan and the charges will be discontinued.
Vacation and Sick Time
- Paid Time Off
Paid Time Off (PTO) is earned and available to use after completing six months of employment, and continues to accrue as time goes on. Most employees use paid time off for vacations, personal business or short-term illness. Unused PTO time may be carried over from year to year.
- Holiday Time Off
Associates are paid for eight holidays each year, based upon holidays observed within our organization. Unused holiday time may be carried over from year to year, to a maximum of 40 hours. This benefit is available upon first day of employment.
- Short-Term Disability Bank
Short Term Disability Bank time is earned and available after six months of employment. Employees accrue six days each year (based on hours worked), and can use the time off in the event of an extended illness.
Retirement and College Savings
- Retirement Savings Program
Martin Memorial helps its Associates save with three types of employer contributions to a retirement savings plan: a 100 percent match up to a maximum of 2 percent based on eligible earnings; a contribution of one to three percent of eligible earnings, based on years of credited service when you make voluntary contributions to a 401(k) or 403(b); and a potential success sharing contribution of up to one percent of eligible earnings a year, based on the organization’s overall success.
-
401(k)/403(b) Retirement Savings Plan All Martin Memorial employees may elect to contribute to a tax advantaged 401(k) or 403(b) retirement savings plan as of their date of hire. Rollovers from other like plans are accepted. Martin Memorial cares about your financial health. With the automatic 3 percent enrollment feature, we’ve made retirement savings easier for you. You don’t have to do anything. Around your third paycheck after your employment, you will see a deduction for the 403(b) or 401(k) plan (the plan is determined based on the department for which you work). 403(b) is the designated plan for non-profit and 401(k) is the designated for-profit plan.
